The person who created the subreddit becomes the first mod and gets to choose the mod team. Subreddit mods are not employees and do not get paid. Reddit admins are employees that get paid. So “removing” is a better term than “delete”. However the post or comment will no longer appear on the subreddit page. What exactly happens depends on the situation, the subreddit, and what the mods do, or for that matter, whether the mods do anything or not.
